The basis for warm drinks can be tea, coffee, milk, and even juice. The main thing that gives them a cozy warmth is spicy spices (cinnamon, saffron, cardamom, nutmeg). Stock up on fragrant additives and come up with your own cocktails! We will suggest a few original options.

1. Creole cocoa

A very interesting and exotic option for serving a favorite chocolate drink for children. With a cup of Creole chocolate, it’s so nice to sit wrapped in a shaggy blanket for some exciting board game! Tip: for a festive serving of the drink, decorate the glasses with whatever the soul desires – circles of lemons or oranges, tangerine slices, almond crumbs, or marshmallow marshmallows.

You will need:

  • 1/2 l milk
  • 1 egg
  • 5-6 tbsp cane sugar
  • 3 tbsp cocoa
  • 100 g ground almonds
  • 1 tbsp starch
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • nutmeg

Heat the milk a little in a saucepan. Leave half of it, and pour the other into a stationary blender. Add cocoa powder, cane sugar, starch, and egg. Shoot carefully. Bring the remaining milk in the saucepan to a boil and add the milk-spicy blender mixture to it. Hold the mixture over low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly and not bringing to a boil. In the end, add ground almonds and, if desired, nutmeg. Stir well.

2. Christmas punch Wassail with tea

In an old book of English recipes, the following recipe for a popular warming drink is given: “To a pint of ale, add half an ounce of grated ginger and muscat, a pinch of cinnamon, and half a pound of brown sugar. Heat and stir without bringing to a boil. Add two pints of ale, half a pint of sherry, the zest of one lemon, mashed with a piece of sugar, and six baked apples without a core. Serve hot with a piece of apple in each cup.” This extravaganza of taste is a cult British drink, the name of which translates from Old English as “Be healthy!”. We offer you to prepare it on the basis of tea so that both adults and children can get pleasure.

You will need:

  • 1 l. freshly brewed black tea
  • 4 tbsp. cranberry juice
  • 4 tbsp. apple juice (best freshly squeezed)
  • 1/2 l orange juice
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3/4 tbsp lemon juice
  • a few sticks of cinnamon and clove stars

Mix in a large saucepan black tea, cranberry juice, apple, orange, and lemon juice. Add the sugar and stir so that it dissolves completely. Wrap cinnamon sticks and clove stars in a double layer of gauze, tie with thread, and dip in a saucepan. Put the punch on the stove and heat on low heat, preventing boiling. When the drink is hot enough, remove the spices. Pour into cups.recipes of warming drinks

Egg and milkshake is a traditional Christmas drink of Americans and Canadians. You will say that egg-legs are similar to our Gogol-mogul, and you will be right because its main component is beaten chicken eggs. But the overseas analog is softer in consistency than the Russian “chatterbox”. To get a delicate cream mixture, the cocktail is prepared according to the principle of brewing: add raw eggs to hot milk. Another difference: egg-legs, unlike Gogol-mogul, can be served in a hot version. We found just such a recipe.

  • 1/4 tbsp condensed milk
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • a pinch of cloves and vanilla sugar
  • whipped cream and nutmeg for decoration

Mix milk and condensed milk, cloves, cinnamon in a small saucepan. Put the mixture on a small fire, but do not boil. Beat egg yolks with sugar. Very slowly, one tablespoon add the milk mixture to the whipped yolks. Pour everything back into the pan and keep for 5 minutes on low heat, stirring continuously. Add some vanilla sugar.
