Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 1 roll of puff pastry
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cuil. soup of water
  • 150 g of cheese to choose from (here comté & tomme)
  • 4 cuil. thick fresh cream soup (light or not)
  • Salt and pepper

The preparation steps:

  1. In a bowl, mix the crème fraîche, grated cheese, salt and pepper.
  2. Unroll the puff pastry and use cookie cutters of different sizes to cut out stars.
  3. Place a little cheese preparation in the center of a few stars and cover them with the remaining stars, gently welding the edges. Place everything on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper or a baking mat.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the egg yolk and water and brush the stars. (For even more flavor and color, you can add a drizzle of soy sauceto this mix.)
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 12 to 15 minutes. Enjoy!

The recipe for fir puff pastry

This is a very original and above all friendly way to get your appetite before Christmas dinner. Two puff pastries are enough to make a beautiful piece like this, to be declined according to tastes and desires!

Ingredients for 8 people:

  • 2 rolls of puff pastry
  • 1 jar of pesto
  • 1 egg yolk
  • a handful of herbs
  • some pink berries (for decoration)

The preparation steps:

  1. Cut 2 fir trees (triangle and its trunk) from each puff pastry.
  2. Brush one fir with pesto and cover it with the second fir.
  3. Draw two lines in the center of the fir tree with the tip of a knife to draw the trunk and cut horizontal strips 2 cm wide on either side of the trunk.
  4. Twist the strips and cover them with egg yolk.
  5. For stunning results, add herbs and a few pink berries.

The recipe for the gourmet Christmas wreath

Ingredients for 6 people:

  • 20 g flour
  • 6 g fresh baker’s yeast
  • 6 cl warm milk
  • 40 g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cuil. to salt coffee
  • 1/2 jar of cheese spread
  • condiments for decoration
  • Salt and pepper

The preparation steps:

  1. In a bowl, pour the flour, form a well and add an egg to it with the diced yeast, salt, milk and soft butter. Mix everything well to obtain a homogeneous paste.
  2. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough sit for an hour in a dry, well-heated room.
  3. Knead the dough and cut it into 9 equal parts that you will shape into small doughs.
  4. Form a circle with the resulting balls (spaced about 1 cm apart, as they will swell when baked) on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper or a baking mat. Let everything rest for 45 min.
  5. Whisk the remaining egg in a small bowl and use it to brown the dough and bake for 20 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 ° C.
  6. Wait for the brioche to cool down and spread the cheese spread on top.
  7. Add condiments of your choice in decoration.
