Many people associate Finland with cold weather, gloom, and a large number of forest trees. However, Ossi Saarinen (previously here and here), a Finnish wildlife photographer, feels that the nation is much more than that, and he uses nature photography to convey a different, surprisingly fascinating aspect of his homeland.
Ossi’s photographs of beautiful Finnish environment, particularly the pristine woods that the Finnish people are so proud of, encompass about three-quarters of the nation, convey happy sensations. Wild creatures wander freely and enjoy their lives to the fullest in these quiet and old woodlands.
Finnish animals seem enigmatic, interesting, and attractive, as if they’ve walked straight out of a fairytale. Ossi does not miss out on the opportunity to shoot the beauty of Finnish nature. He believes that every interaction between animals and people is a once-in-a-lifetime experience (with the exception of the bear encounter).
Now, let’s have a look at his environment and animal photography portfolio, which has a magical feel to it.
