Briana Turner and her husband Jordan spent two years trying to get ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ until they discovered that they were expecting not one but FIVE children. One MUM among cereals described a busy lifestyle with 5 kids carrying. Briana Turner and her husband Jordan spent two years trying to get ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ until they found out that they weren’t expecting one but five sprouts.
Now, as parents approach their child’s first birthday, the family has opened up about what life is like. The children, born in May last year, each wear about four outfits a day – which means a total of 20 changes and at least three washes. They also get about 60 diapers a day, and a feed happens every 30 minutes – what Briana describes as an “assembly line”.
At one point, babies fed on about 40 bottles of milk a day. Jordan, 27, who fainted when she heard Briana was giving birth to five children, took only a week off work before returning to her day job as a crane. Since then, Briana has been assisted by her mother and nanny with infant care; Zoey Hart, Dakota Faith, Hollyn Grace, Asher Blaze and Gavin Lane.
Although Briana doesn’t want to think about how much money the couple has spent on the kids, she says the number is definitely in the thousands. Briana, 30, who lives with her biological parents in Kentucky, said: “It’s crazy. There’s certainly never a dull moment in the house. “We feed every 30 minutes because as soon as the last baby is fed you go back to feeding the first baby,” she says. The cycle begins again.
It’s a bit like an assembly line. They get multiple bottles every day. We have a nanny to stay with us. My mother is also here at 6am every day to help. We are very grateful for that. We don’t really take them out too much because their immune systems are weak but when we do we are sure to attract attention. We usually take them with us on two or three different trips.
“We had to have a van as soon as they came out – obviously our standard car didn’t fit them. But even that is a compulsion. It’s definitely a huge task to get them out and we’re attracting a lot of attention. We really couldn’t go anywhere without that. “Each of them has their own little personality. It’s really amazing to watch them grow. We have to stay with a pretty tight schedule and we’re adapting to that as they evolve.
We will definitely have to buy a bigger house. Sometimes it just doesn’t seem real – the past year has just been a little fuzzy. Each person wears about four outfits a day – which means at least three washes. We go through about 60 diapers a day. It was definitely a shock and a tough learning curve. However, when asked if she would have any more children in the future. She said it was definitely five and added: “Oh my – we’re done.”
